About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape medication policies
- Optimize drug therapies
- Ensure safe and effective patient care
- Develop content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee
- Evaluate new drugs for formulary
- Develop evidence-based guidelines
- Strategic planning of policies/processes for improving efficiency
- Serve as gatekeepers for high cost/risk medications
- Provide drug information resource for staff on complex therapeutic issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Pharm.D. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy in the USA
- Completion of a PGY1 residency or equivalent practice experience. PGY2 in Drug Use Policy or Drug Information is preferred
- Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
- BLS certification upon hire
- Excellent clinical database and critical thinking skills
- Experience in drug information services and formulary development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare disciplines
- Capability to teach and serve as preceptor for pharmacy students and residents
- Ability to prioritize projects to meet goals
- Evaluate implications for the use of automated information systems.
