About the role
- Prepare 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and material take‑offs for heavy industrial equipment and ducting systems.
- Assist in the design of hot exhaust and flue gas ducting, including casings, transitions, and associated structural plate components.
- Develop drawings for customer review, material procurement, and fabrication, following established design standards and templates.
- Incorporate design input related to thermal expansion, operating temperature, and mechanical loading as directed by senior designers or engineers.
- Coordinate ducting layouts and interfaces with associated equipment such as SCR reactors, baghouses, ESPs, dampers, and expansion joints, with guidance as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Computer‑Aided Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in industrial structural or mechanical design.
- Experience producing industrial ductwork or plate structures, preferably in heavy industrial or process‑equipment environments.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and preparation of fabrication‑ready drawings.
- Ability to perform basic geometric and material quantity calculations accurately.
