About the role

  • Serves as project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and as a designated client contact.
  • May have project management responsibilities on multiple projects.
  • Responsible for successful completion of projects, including schedule, budget, and profitability.
  • Develops feasible engineering design alternatives to meet project requirements.
  • Performs structural calculations, modeling, analysis, and design.
  • Prepares contract documents including technical reports, studies, plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, and permitting for projects.
  • Maintains project records and performs project administration.
  • Performs field visits to inspect existing structures and identify necessary repairs.
  • Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with other engineers, designers, and technicians on project activities.
  • Provides technical support, guidance, and input to design team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in civil or structural engineering from ABET accredited university; Master’s degree (M.S.) with emphasis in structural engineering is desired.
  • Three or more years of progressive experience specific to engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
  • If not licensed in Oklahoma, Texas, and/or Arkansas, must be able to obtain licenses within six months of start date.
  • Project experience with Oklahoma DOT, Texas DOT, and/or Arkansas DOT preferred.
  • Experience in structural detailing in AutoCAD and MicroStation software preferred.
  • Experience with structural design software, such as Bentley OpenBridge and MDX preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • English language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
