About the role
- Grow revenue and overall profitability for the assigned product category
- Manage product, promotion, price, competitive positioning, and sales awareness
- Maintain expert knowledge in a product portfolio as the subject matter expert
- Develop marketing plans for their product portfolio
- Maximize sales revenue, profit, and vendor co-op for specific product categories through strategic planning and marketing
- Recommend pricing strategies, monitor competitive activity, oversees product information, and identifies customer needs
- Interface with vendors to develop or enhance the marketing of product(s) or product line(s), and manage Co-op and MDF funding
- Manage SKUs per product categories
- Optimize catalog and E-commerce merchandising strategy for the category
- Identify key emerging technologies and partners within the category
- Forecast sales volumes, run product forecasts, and proactively manage measurable category goals
- Analyze industry information to identify opportunities and strategies to increase vendor partner sales within CDW
- Build and maintain successful relationships with partners and act as the liaison and escalation point between CDW and the vendor
- Create annual Business plan for the respective category
- Align and communicate with Segment marketing
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in merchandising, product management, category management, or marketing
- 9 years’ experience in merchandising, product management, category management, or marketing
- 4 years CDW PPM experience and 5 years’ experience in merchandising, product management, category management, or marketing
- Proven track record in marketing product lines with the ability to manage products through their lifecycle, customer engagement scenarios, and product positioning issues
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of cross-functional teams, with the ability to creatively problem solve
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and present to all stakeholders including senior leadership
- Demonstrated financial and analytical skills
- Successful history of building and maintaining internal and external partner relationships at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
