About the role
- Create high-quality, real-time visual effects across a variety of VFX types.
- Collaborate with teams across disciplines to support gameplay, cinematics, and environments with top-tier VFX.
- Partner with peers to innovate and research new workflows, tools, and techniques that push real-time VFX forward.
- Deliver VFX work that performs well and aligns with technical budgets.
- Populate environments with engaging and accessible VFX.
- Help foster a culture of creativity, trust, and technical excellence.
- Work with department leads and production to estimate and plan work effectively.
Requirements
- Significant experience in real-time VFX creation (typically 5+ years).
- A portfolio demonstrating strong skills in game VFX creation.
- Experience with both real-time and baked simulations.
- Familiarity with VFX tools and pipelines (e.g., Houdini, Max, Maya).
- Expertise in Unreal Engine 5, Niagara, and related systems.
- Understanding of PBR concepts, real-time rendering, shaders, and lighting.
- Experience optimizing performance for real-time VFX.
- Creative and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Proactive contribution to shared goals and willingness to share knowledge.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences.
