About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Communicate with clients during cybersecurity crisis situations
- Collect, sort and analyze technical information provided by the client at first contact (e.g., affected user groups, impacted services, information required for investigation, etc.)
- Assess and classify cybersecurity incidents
- Provide initial reflex measures and best-practice recommendations to the client
- Advise clients on immediate actions to take and legal procedures to follow (e.g., evidence preservation, filing a complaint/report)
- Using an engagement matrix, identify local incident-response actors best suited to respond to the encountered threat (e.g., availability, technology involved, geographic location, services offered, etc.)
- Track the client's case throughout the incident
- Conduct proactive cybersecurity monitoring and threat awareness
- Identify opportunities to improve incident response processes or activities that could be supported by tools or automated
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree or equivalent advanced technical diploma (IT, cybersecurity, etc.)
- Some professional experience, ideally in security incident response
- Strong interest in technical cybersecurity subjects and/or incident response
- Good knowledge of information systems analysis and system architecture
- Knowledge of the operation, hardening and vulnerabilities of major operating systems
- Familiarity with analysis tools (e.g., firewall logs, proxy logs, EVTX, etc.) and legal procedures
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable handling inbound and outbound calls
- Ability to summarize and simplify technical information for different audiences
- Critical thinker: analytical, organized and rigorous
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ethical standards and a customer-oriented mindset
- Good command of English is a plus
- Valid driving license required
