About the role
- Design and implement modern data architectures (e.g., Medallion Architecture, Data Lakehouse)
- Develop and optimize data pipelines (batch & streaming) using Kafka, Spark/Databricks and cloud services such as Azure Data Factory
- Utilize and integrate core Databricks components such as Unity Catalog and AI/BI Genie
- Ensure Data & AI governance, security and compliance within cloud architectures
- Support the creation and presentation of customer demos and contribute to presales activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile projects (Scrum/Kanban)
- Take responsibility for DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines and automation using Terraform and other infrastructure tools
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to translate technical solutions into business context
Requirements
- Degree in (business) computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics or a comparable field
- Several years of experience developing data engineering solutions with Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL and cloud platforms
- Knowledge of big data architectures (data lakes, Delta Lake, DWH, ETL/ELT, streaming technologies)
- Experience with programming & automation (Python, Scala, SQL, Terraform, CI/CD)
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Nice-to-have: experience with MLOps, dbt or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Willingness to travel within the DACH region
