About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and drive the vision for Cboe's build and release engineering practice
  • Lead AI adoption across the DevOps lifecycle — deploying intelligent automation for changelog generation, incident summarization, deployment workflows, and infrastructure-as-code generation
  • Architect, evolve, and own a high-performance CI/CD pipeline
  • Champion an automation-first culture
  • Oversee build, test, and release environments end-to-end
  • Develop and maintain testing tools, dashboards, and status reporting
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to influence software design for testability, deployability, and operational excellence
  • Continuously evaluate and introduce emerging technologies that keep Cboe's engineering practice at the leading edge

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience
  • Advanced Linux expertise: system administration, hardware/software environments, shell scripting
  • Extensive Python development or scripting experience
  • Network administration, configuration management, and technical troubleshooting
  • Deep experience with Git-based version control and branching strategies
  • Strong CI/CD tooling experience, including Jenkins
  • Familiarity with containerization and virtualization: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
  • Hands-on experience deploying AI to automate real DevOps workflows
  • Practical experience with tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar
  • Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks — LangChain, AutoGen, or equivalents
