About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and drive the vision for Cboe's build and release engineering practice
Lead AI adoption across the DevOps lifecycle — deploying intelligent automation for changelog generation, incident summarization, deployment workflows, and infrastructure-as-code generation
Architect, evolve, and own a high-performance CI/CD pipeline
Champion an automation-first culture
Oversee build, test, and release environments end-to-end
Develop and maintain testing tools, dashboards, and status reporting
Collaborate across engineering teams to influence software design for testability, deployability, and operational excellence
Continuously evaluate and introduce emerging technologies that keep Cboe's engineering practice at the leading edge

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience
Advanced Linux expertise: system administration, hardware/software environments, shell scripting
Extensive Python development or scripting experience
Network administration, configuration management, and technical troubleshooting
Deep experience with Git-based version control and branching strategies
Strong CI/CD tooling experience, including Jenkins
Familiarity with containerization and virtualization: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
Hands-on experience deploying AI to automate real DevOps workflows
Practical experience with tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, or similar
Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks — LangChain, AutoGen, or equivalents
