About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and sustain the Quality Management Program
  • Align quality programs with organizational goals, industry standards, and contract requirements
  • Create and maintain the Quality Program Plan (QPP) aligned with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and quality standards
  • Design, maintain, and execute surveillance schedules
  • Lead comprehensive internal audits covering processes and deliverables
  • Prepare and deliver Monthly Quality Status Reports with metrics and analysis for internal and external stakeholders, including Federal or defense contracting entities
  • Evaluate compliance with PWS standards, Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs), deliverables, staffing commitments, and performance objectives
  • Monitor and leverage performance data to exceed contractual obligations and operational goals
  • Lead root-cause analyses, corrective action plans, preventive action measures, and trend analyses
  • Verify issue closure and track measurable progress through structured processes
  • Coordinate with site quality focal points to ensure program consistency and quality execution
  • Independently execute quality functions and maintain boundaries of responsibility to avoid conflicts of interest
  • Support team cross-training and coverage of critical quality functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Report to the Program Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in quality, engineering, business administration, operations, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or technical operations
  • At least 3+ years leading a quality program on a Federal or defense contract
  • Expertise in audit planning, quality metrics development, PWS/AQL interpretation, root-cause analysis, data analysis, and customer reporting
  • Top Secret/SCI Clearance is required
  • Must be able to pass a background check; additional project/client background checks may be required
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and on a multifunctional team
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Strong analytical capabilities for interpreting data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal or defense contracting requirements, contract performance standards, and AQLs
  • Proficient in surveillance and audit planning
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods
  • Ability to use computers and office productivity tools with sufficient speed
  • Ability to establish a productive and professional workspace
  • Ability to sit for long periods while looking at a computer screen
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and outside normal business hours
  • Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support for incidents, exercises, deadlines, and travel obligations
  • Preferred: ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CQM/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable quality credentials
