About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, configure, engineer, and maintain server-side VTC infrastructure including Cisco Meeting Server, Cisco TelePresence Management Suite, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, MCUs, and specialized audiovisual hardware
- Monitor backend network traffic and collaborate with network operations on QoS, enterprise bandwidth allocation, and H.323/SIP routing issues
- Apply DISA STIGs across VTC components, manage firewalls, and oversee enterprise COMSEC architecture
- Manage and key COMSEC hardware such as TACLANEs for secure enclaves
- Configure MCUs and manage room calendars and bridge resources to prevent scheduling conflicts
- Conduct conference-room sweeps 30–60 minutes before high-priority events to test connectivity, cameras, and microphones
- Resolve network outages, routing failures, and server crashes
- Escalate and resolve Tier I and II helpdesk tickets involving in-room issues
- Provide end-user education and quick-start orientations
- Report to the Program Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent military/civilian operational experience
- Active DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II compliant certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE
- CCNA Collaboration or Cisco CCT Collaboration certification
- Crestron Master Programmer, Crestron Technologist, or Extron Authorized Programmer/AV Associate credential
- Active Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- Mastery of Cisco TMS and Cisco CMS
- Expertise integrating TACLANEs and KIVs into secure VTC enclaves
- Advanced understanding of SIP and H.323 protocols, network traffic analysis, and QoS standards
- High-level proficiency drafting technical network topologies using Microsoft Visio
- Must pass a background check and may require additional project/client background checks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to respond rapidly to high-stress VIP and General Officer meeting callouts
- Ability to conduct end-user education and quick-start orientations
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritization, adaptability, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Comfortable working in tight spaces and performing physical installations or endpoint replacements
- Ability to work extended periods, sit for long periods, and use computers and office productivity tools
- May work flexible schedules, holidays, and hours outside normal business hours
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development
- Preferred: CCNP Collaboration focused on CUCM, CMS, and TMS
