About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement cloud strategies by providing expert guidance on complex cloud architectures and systems.
- Drive efficiency improvements across multiple work streams, optimizing processes and cloud resource utilization.
- Develop and implement cost optimization strategies for cloud resources to ensure maximum value from cloud investments.
- Provide strategies for service failure/recovery, cost optimization, and benefit analysis for cloud, cloud-agnostic, and on-premises services.
- Manage and enforce policies for cloud service usage and new technology adoption, ensuring the establishment and maintenance of a secure cloud environment.
- Ensure appropriate availability and design for high uptime of cloud services in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Independently design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing cloud software solutions.
- Debug cloud stacks and manage all aspects of cloud infrastructure, ensuring operational reliability and resilience.
- Implement and maintain a zero-trust architecture within cloud environments, ensuring robust security posture.
- Analyze, lead, and execute the development and implementation of cloud applications, including the migration of existing on-premises applications to the cloud.

Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelors degree in a related field is required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in cloud engineering or related technical roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver large-scale cloud migration and optimization projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience in developing and implementing cloud governance policies and security frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
- Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Strong knowledge of network security principles and experience with cloud-native security tools.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
