About the role
- Lead design and development of the new Oracle APEX application, ensuring robust data models and normalized schemas
- Design and implement database schemas, data models, and normalization for long-term maintainability
- Translate business requirements into scalable Oracle APEX applications
- Build secure, accessible UIs using APEX Universal Theme, CSS, and JavaScript
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL code; enforce standards and lead peer reviews
- Direct data migration processes, ensuring integrity and accuracy
- Oversee application upgrades, deployments, and release cycles
- Mentor mid-level developers and provide technical leadership
- Ensure compliance with 508 accessibility, enterprise security practices, and other practices as needed
- Perform duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 4 Year Degree Information Technology or related field or Equivalent Experience
- 8+ years in software development
- 5+ years working with Oracle APEX
- Proven success delivering enterprise-scale APEX applications (10k+ users)
- Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and normalization
- Strong PL/SQL and SQL tuning skills
- Demonstrated experience leading application deployments and upgrades
- Top Secret Security Clearance required
- Must be able to pass a background check; may require additional background checks
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and articulately
- Highly motivated and capable of leading under aggressive timelines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner
- Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to work on-site in the National Capital region
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed
