About the role

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-availability SQL Server databases.
  • Manage installation, configuration, upgrades, and patches.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance.
  • Develop and execute backup and recovery procedures.
  • Enforce security, compliance, and access controls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  • Support data migration, replication, and integration.
  • Automate maintenance tasks via scripting.
  • Document key database configurations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams.
  • Mentor junior DBA staff.
  • Participate in security audits and compliance reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience in SQL database administration supporting and managing databases in a production environment.
  • Five years of experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft SQL Server in High Availability Group configurations.
  • Five years of experience with T-SQL and ability to write scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views to automate maintenance functions.
  • Three years of experience serving as a team leader working both part of a team and independently to assign/review tasks, set priorities, and maintain task progress.
  • Three years of experience mentoring junior personnel on proper practices and procedures.
  • Three years of experience planning and implementing security measures to safeguard information against damage, modification, or disclosure per industry best practices.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with SBI and ability to attain additional clearances.
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MSCA) or SQL Server 2016/SQL Database Administration Certification; DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II/Intermediate certification.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
