💰 $45 - $65 per hour

About the role

  • Accurately translate lectures, conversations, meetings, medical, legal, educational, environmental, and social services content
  • Remain HIPAA compliant when interpreting or translating in a healthcare setting
  • Abide by client policies and the American Translators Association Code of Ethics
  • Render complete and accurate translations without altering, omitting, or adding to the content
  • Be sensitive to cultural differences between source and target languages
  • Be on-call and available for notification within 48 hours of potential jobs
  • Use computer and office productivity tools to complete translation tasks
  • May be asked to work flexible hours, including holidays and outside normal business hours
  • Other duties as assigned; report to Deputy Program Manager

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent in years of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Certified Translation Professional
  • Translation Certifications or Accreditation from a translation program
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be fluent in Portuguese
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients
  • Ability to facilitate translation with discretion and impartiality
  • Proficiency in written communication
  • Cultural awareness when conducting translations within different regions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • For Medical Translation services: medical interpreter certificate (CCHI or NCMI) preferred
  • 2 years of Legal translation experience preferred
  • 2 years of Medical translation experience preferred
  • American Translators Association Certification preferred
  • Court certified translator certificate preferred
