About the role

  • The Senior Business Analyst III works with our client on multiple projects that support the mission while supporting the Texas students.
  • The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
  • This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
  • Responsibilities: Performs advanced, senior-level business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience.
  • Ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices and will partner with the product team and other key stakeholders on design solutions.
  • Involvement at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle.
  • Management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications: Here’s What You Need 8 years of experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements.
  • 8 years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
  • 8 years of experience with Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience.
  • 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices.
  • 8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices.
  • 5 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • 5 years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Minimum Skills: Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements."
  • 3 years of documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira."
  • 2 years of documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency.
  • 1 year of documented experience with Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.
