The Work: The Translator will provide Translation services for individuals with a language barrier. Translation will consist of but not limited to Education, legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services, etc.
Responsibilities: Accurately translate spoken work situations like lectures, conversations, and meetings. Utilizing technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings. Reading an original document and translating it into the language required. Editing translated versions. Will need to be sensitive to the culture of the original languages and the target languages during the translation process.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School/BA Degree or equivalent in years of experience
Foreign Service Institute Certified Translation
ATA Certification or Translation Certifications
Experience with State Department experience/ refugees, FDA, Health & Human services, Medical, Legal, Housing Authority etc.
Must be fluent in Hopi
