About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide crisis intervention to individuals and families facing a housing crisis and who are most at risk of shelter entry or re-entry
- Conduct assessments of individual and family problems and follow-up with brief services or referrals to Catholic Charities programs
- Develop and maintain communication with other programs and departments for inter-agency referrals
- Assist clients in applying for and receiving public and private benefits
- Maintain current and accurate documentation of services provided to clients
- Attend Agency’s in-service training and unit meetings as well as agency-related activities
- Complete statistical reports
- Assist with food distribution at food pantry and related administrative duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or at least two years’ experience in the social services field
- Bilingual, English/Spanish, a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of social service delivery systems and City resources
- Good organizational, time-management and communication skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
