About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide crisis intervention to individuals and families facing a housing crisis and who are most at risk of shelter entry or re-entry
  • Conduct assessments of individual and family problems and follow-up with brief services or referrals to Catholic Charities programs
  • Develop and maintain communication with other programs and departments for inter-agency referrals
  • Assist clients in applying for and receiving public and private benefits
  • Maintain current and accurate documentation of services provided to clients
  • Attend Agency’s in-service training and unit meetings as well as agency-related activities
  • Complete statistical reports
  • Assist with food distribution at food pantry and related administrative duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least two years’ experience in the social services field
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish, a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of social service delivery systems and City resources
  • Good organizational, time-management and communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
