About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide crisis intervention to individuals and families facing a housing crisis and who are most at risk of shelter entry or re-entry
Conduct assessments of individual and family problems and follow-up with brief services or referrals to Catholic Charities programs
Develop and maintain communication with other programs and departments for inter-agency referrals
Assist clients in applying for and receiving public and private benefits
Maintain current and accurate documentation of services provided to clients
Attend Agency’s in-service training and unit meetings as well as agency-related activities
Complete statistical reports
Assist with food distribution at food pantry and related administrative duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or at least two years’ experience in the social services field
Bilingual, English/Spanish, a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of social service delivery systems and City resources
Good organizational, time-management and communication skills
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
