About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop the frontend of an autonomous-driving high-definition map platform, including map visualization, editing, annotation, and rendering modules
- Build high-performance frontend components and interactive interfaces using React or Vue
- Improve Web map rendering performance and user experience
- Build 2D/3D map rendering systems using WebGL, Three.js, Mapbox GL, OpenLayers, or Cesium
- Visualize and design interactions for roads, lane markings, physical features, and semantic map elements
- Optimize spatial data loading, rendering efficiency, and coordinate transformations
- Build map data services, data-processing pipelines, and task-scheduling systems using Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
- Design and implement RESTful APIs supporting map data production, editing, querying, and cross-system interaction
- Optimize data-service architecture for stability and scalability
- Parse, transform, calibrate, and standardize multi-source spatial data
- Model data, design spatial indexes, and tune performance using PostGIS and spatial databases
- Use GDAL/OGR, QGIS, and ArcGIS for map data clipping, merging, and quality checks
- Deploy services, monitor logs, and optimize system performance
- Implement Docker containerized deployment and basic CI/CD processes
- Manage coordinate systems, projections, and spatial indexes
- Ensure geographic alignment accuracy and consistency across data sources
- Collaborate closely with algorithm, simulation, and autonomous-driving systems teams to build core map infrastructure for perception, localization, planning, and simulation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Proficiency in at least one mainstream frontend framework, such as React or Vue
- Understanding of frontend engineering processes, including Webpack or Vite
- Experience implementing complex interactions
- Experience with at least one Web mapping library, such as WebGL, Three.js, Mapbox GL, OpenLayers, or Cesium, preferred
- Proficiency in at least one backend technology stack: Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation
- Understanding of common Web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, Express, or Spring
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases; PostGIS experience is a plus
- Basic engineering capabilities, including server deployment, log monitoring, and Docker containerization
- Understanding of GIS concepts including coordinate systems, projections, and spatial indexes
- Familiarity with GeoJSON, Shapefile, TIFF, MVT, and OSM data formats
- Experience using GDAL/OGR, QGIS, or ArcGIS
- Knowledge of at least one point-cloud processing toolchain, such as PDAL, PCL, or Open3D, is a nice-to-have
- Experience with point-cloud segmentation, classification, filtering, road/object extraction, or terrain reconstruction is a nice-to-have
- 3D map, Cesium, Three.js, or WebGL rendering experience is an additional advantage
- Unreal Engine or Unity development experience is an advantage
