About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Shape new and current technology products by working with dealers, customers, commercial teams, engineering teams, and third parties
  • Lead advancements in safety product technologies, including Driver Safety System, collision awareness and avoidance capabilities, and back-office applications
  • Support operator vigilance, fatigue and distraction event detection, in-cab alerting, event visualization, data reporting, and integration with connected machine and site systems
  • Interface with commercial teams to understand customer needs and document commercial requirements
  • Translate commercial requirements into technical requirements for engineering teams
  • Build relationships with third-party suppliers and enforce product quality best practices
  • Lead Driver Safety System product development through New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Drive engineering product development, including cost estimation, budget management, and product lifecycle R&D estimation
  • Apply industry and internal security practices to product development for Product Safety and Compliance
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Commercial, Product Support, and Supply Chain on ongoing development projects
  • Develop and communicate tactical and strategic plans supporting AI Assistant product and technology roadmaps
  • Align engineering priorities with enterprise AI strategy and business objectives
  • Plan resource allocation across engineering teams, suppliers, and strategic initiatives
  • Identify dependencies and risks affecting delivery, scalability, or adoption
  • Manage multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Monitor major projects for critical path and status versus plan
  • Lead selection and implementation of vendor-specific or in-house software development methodologies
  • Promote collaboration across teams and organizational boundaries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Previous experience integrating electronic and mechanical systems
  • Experience with Operator Safety technologies, in-cab monitoring systems, connected machine data, safety analytics, or other safety products
  • Proven experience in technical leadership roles on product development teams
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, workgroups, other business units, customers, and suppliers
  • 4+ years of experience with the mining, construction, or related industry preferred
  • Experience with tactical and strategic planning
  • Experience managing multiple high-risk, high-cost projects
  • Extensive experience using software development life cycle methodologies to deliver software products
  • Ability to work full-time onsite at the Mossville, Illinois or Tucson, Arizona office
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship; visa sponsorship is not available
  • Successful completion of a drug screen required
