About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop Python data pipelines that build business data objects supporting applications
Perform new program development across functional lines
Complete programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision
Work on complex application and technical problem identification and resolution
Interpret design requirements for engineering implementation
Build and deploy CI/CD pipelines
Implement source-to-target mapping as pipeline code
Perform unit and integration testing
Establish software quality practices and habits within the team
Identify and encourage areas for team growth and improvement
Perform other duties assigned by Caterpillar management

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong expertise in software development tools and activities
Strong expertise in the software development life cycle
Strong expertise in software product design and architecture
Strong expertise in technical aspects of software products
Strong expertise in software product testing
Software development experience and solid knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
Experience designing and developing software applications in Python
Experience working with Git version control on medium to large teams
Experience deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps
Experience with AWS components including Lambda, Kinesis, EventBridge, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, Fargate, S3, SageMaker, IAM, and RDS
Experience working with Snowflake
Hands-on experience with GenAI developer tools
Experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar AI coding assistants
