About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment
- Perform milling, drilling, and grinding functions to cast iron and steel components
- Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, ball screws, precision bearings
- Read and understand machine tool prints and work with tight tolerances
- Level and align machines, shafts, gearing, welding, lubrication principles, pipefitting, and tube bending
- Operate basic tools to complete the machine repair job
Requirements
What you’ll need- Successfully completed an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or extensive experience in the mechanical repair of machine tools and related equipment
- Skilled and experienced with preventative and predictive maintenance practices and technology
- Metal fabrication skills
- Familiar with ball screw repair, repair of precision spindles
- Ability to do precision laser alignments on machine tools
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Basic electrical skills
- Ability to communicate and build strong relationships with internal/external customers/stakeholders
- Must be willing to work overtime opportunities to support production demands
