About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment
  • Perform milling, drilling, and grinding functions to cast iron and steel components
  • Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, ball screws, precision bearings
  • Read and understand machine tool prints and work with tight tolerances
  • Level and align machines, shafts, gearing, welding, lubrication principles, pipefitting, and tube bending
  • Operate basic tools to complete the machine repair job

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successfully completed an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or extensive experience in the mechanical repair of machine tools and related equipment
  • Skilled and experienced with preventative and predictive maintenance practices and technology
  • Metal fabrication skills
  • Familiar with ball screw repair, repair of precision spindles
  • Ability to do precision laser alignments on machine tools
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • Basic electrical skills
  • Ability to communicate and build strong relationships with internal/external customers/stakeholders
  • Must be willing to work overtime opportunities to support production demands
