About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead NPI, NTI, CPI, and OPACC initiatives for assigned power system platforms
Provide technical leadership for design, development, integration, and validation of power system components
Facilitate comprehensive Design FMEAs, risk assessments, and development of component and system DVP&Rs
Coordinate requirements management, concept development, supplier selection, and validation activities
Maintain technical ownership and release accountability for critical power system components
Develop and manage component and system project plans as part of Caterpillar's product development process
Lead cross-functional teams in resolving complex technical issues through structured root cause analysis
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Global Purchasing, Manufacturing, Validation, Simulation, and Quality
Partner with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive design optimization
Present technical recommendations, program status, risks, and mitigation plans to key stakeholders
Mentor and coach engineers while promoting technical excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering preferred)
Extensive knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups
Technical Excellence: Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods
Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies
Project Management: Expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics
