About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead NPI, NTI, CPI, and OPACC initiatives for assigned power system platforms
- Provide technical leadership for design, development, integration, and validation of power system components
- Facilitate comprehensive Design FMEAs, risk assessments, and development of component and system DVP&Rs
- Coordinate requirements management, concept development, supplier selection, and validation activities
- Maintain technical ownership and release accountability for critical power system components
- Develop and manage component and system project plans as part of Caterpillar's product development process
- Lead cross-functional teams in resolving complex technical issues through structured root cause analysis
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Global Purchasing, Manufacturing, Validation, Simulation, and Quality
- Partner with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive design optimization
- Present technical recommendations, program status, risks, and mitigation plans to key stakeholders
- Mentor and coach engineers while promoting technical excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups
- Technical Excellence: Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods
- Influencing Through Expertise: Extensive knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies
- Project Management: Expert knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics
