About the role
- Join the Caterpillar Accelerated Leadership Development Program (MIT LGO partner) to gain hands-on experience and make real-world impact
- Complete a multi-phase program with participant choice of three rotational assignments
- Possible rotation areas: New Technology Validation; Autonomy Design; Product Electrification; Product Value Chain Design; Strategic Procurement; Lean Innovation; Manufacturing Operations; Field Assignment (Mine Site Autonomy Deployment or Services Growth)
- Receive mentorship by a senior Caterpillar Executive
- Participate in intentional leadership development and experiential learning opportunities
- Complete one 12–18-month developmental international assignment
- Work on cross-functional teams and contribute to engineering and manufacturing projects
- Positions are based in Decatur, IL; East Peoria, IL; or Tucson, AZ and require on-site attendance five days a week
- Applicants will be considered for roles across the United States; relocation assistance available
Requirements
- Currently attending a 2-year accredited university/college MBA program and have completed an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science Degree
- Expected graduation by August 2026
- Must be willing to travel and relocate domestically

- Analytical skills, initiating ideas, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities
- Knowledge of engineering principles, theory, and engineering experience gained through projects, internships, and/or relevant work experiences
- Fundamental understanding of engineering for a manufacturing environment
- Ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes
- Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to quickly gain, and effectively apply new skills & knowledge
- Success in collaborating with others of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, and abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
