About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Stay updated with the latest advancements in cellular, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN technologies and connectivity standards.
- Research new industry connectivity solutions that could be leveraged to further enable autonomous construction machines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards.
- Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for connectivity solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate potential solutions and their impact on existing systems.
- Work closely with software and hardware development teams to ensure seamless integration of connectivity technologies.
- Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation processes to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to connectivity systems and technologies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- Ability to lead programs and mentor other engineers
- Understanding of Network technologies and protocols along with connectivity standards
- Understanding of the capabilities and limits of certain wireless technology (Wi-Fi, Cellular, unlicensed backhaul)
- Knowledge and capability in the areas of SD-WAN, wireless link bonding, load balancing, network coding
- Experience in software development and architecture (C++)
- Linux/Ubuntu
