About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Designs, develops, builds, and implements new products, components, or technologies for Caterpillar Fleet Products including but not limited to Command for Hauling, Dozing, Drills, ADS, Safety and other related products.
  • Researching new materials and competitive products.
  • Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
  • Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.
  • Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.
  • Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
  • Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires a degree in accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Experience with CREO – Cabling/harness Tool, Electrical Harness/Cable Routing, Electrical Drawing Creation, or related experience.
  • Experience with CREO – Sheet metal, solid modeling, contouring, light fabrications drawing creation, or related experience.
  • Teamcenter Vis Mockup experience or Workflow Experience
  • ELI or ELE Schematic experience
  • Familiarity or experience with Caterpillar Products
