About the role

  • Provide direction for team members to develop and execute complex hybrid control systems including generators, inverters, and battery systems
  • Ensure collaboration between departments and divisions working together to ensure a cohesive system is achieved on time
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to define and meet product requirements
  • Provide guidance on long term strategy and direction for controls, inverters and battery energy storage systems
  • Provide guidance and support for regulatory compliance and certification
  • Research new methods for system and site control
  • Develop functional requirements, design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of products and components that satisfy customer needs and advance safety, quality, velocity and cost
  • Guiding the evolution of technical design, technical project planning, detail design, and development testing
  • Monitoring, exploring, and testing new technologies, materials, and components

Requirements

  • This position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science curriculum
  • Extensive engineering experience (including product application, testing, and process design experience in electric power generation, electrical & electronic control systems, inverter technologies or electrical power distribution systems)
  • Familiarity with Codesys, Matlab, Simulink
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics
  • Product Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables
  • Product Testing: Knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques and tools
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques
