About the role
- Collaborate with suppliers to design new hydraulic valve components and solutions to promote better hydraulic system design through NPI.
- Provide engineering support for CPI and field issue resolution.
- Evaluate new products to improve design, cost and/or life for customers.
- Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process activities to ensure components are developed to meet time, cost, and quality requirements within budget.
- Manage project timelines with a broad range of activities from concept design, FMEA assessment, Prototype development, VPD, pilot production, lab testing, machine testing, resolution of field issues, and assurance of supply initiatives.
- Communicate progress & results to customers, suppliers, team members and functional community.
- Initiate process improvements and personal development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- High initiative with strong technical skills
- Familiarity with Creo and Teamcenter
- Knowledge of Caterpillar NPI and CPI processes
- Hydraulic knowledge.
- Effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve organizational goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
