About the role
- Participate/lead the project management activities for assigned Generator set product development projects
- Responsible for all aspects of the generator set factory Bill of Material (BOM) and component compatibility readiness
- Manage project scope and schedule
- Design BOM product structure to best meet marketing, customer, product and project objectives
- Work closely with the purchasing team to identify and develop strategic supply chain partners for generator components and finished goods
- Establishes and maintains compliance with the project timelines
- Keep abreast of new technology and facility system requirements for processing orders
- Participate/lead projects on new processes and systems to streamline work flow and/or increase quality output
- Participate and lead product component implementation projects
- Demonstrated initiative and sense of urgency relative to customer requirements and creative problem solving across organizational boundaries
- High level of oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to maintain utmost discretion and manage confidential and privileged information
- Ability to work with other team members to research and analyze customer specifications to create design proposals to meet performance, customer and manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or similar is preferred.
- Proven analytical, planning, and organization skills
- Knowledge of Engine or Package system designs
- Experience with high speed and medium speed reciprocating engine gensets
- Quality focus and experience with quality systems
- Proven success of 1 or more years designing and developing high power three phase AC synchronous generators in a team environment
- Knowledge of but not limited to industry standards and compliance such as NEMA, UL, IEC, IBC, NFPA
- Technical understanding of material selection, component design practices and DFMEA for electrical and mechanical components of generators
- Experience using ProE, CAD Engineering Tools or Custom Computer Programs to design, develop, and calculate machine performance
- Knowledge of engineering manufacturing methods and production processes used to produce complex assemblies.
