About the role
- Analyzes and develops transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network.
- Collaborates in processes to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels.
Requirements
- Analyzing transportation plans and identifying opportunities for improvements to meet client needs.
- Implementing and maintaining monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.
- Generating and analyzing reports of transportation costs, carrier performance and lead times.
- Assisting in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity and providing solutions to reduce lead times.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices and ability to process large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.
- Analytical thinking and decision-making skills with working knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and critical thinking.
