About the role

- Complete assignments providing relevant work experience and learning opportunities
- Contribute to diverse project responsibilities within the Lafayette Large Engine Center internship program
- Build technical abilities in manufacturing engineering, facilities engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain planning
- Participate in networking opportunities with Caterpillar employees at all levels
- Participate in and build an inclusive, constructive, and productive work environment
- Ensure team members’ contributions are recognized and valued
- Work full-time, 40 hours per week, during summer sessions
- Transition to part-time, 10–20 hours per week, during the academic school year
- Work a 5-day-a-week schedule onsite in the office
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled full-time at a 4-year university/college in an eligible degree program
- Eligible degree programs include Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Systems Management, Business Administration/Management with a focus/minor in Supply Chain, Statistics, Math or Logistics, Finance, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, General Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering/Technology, Logistics, Management Information Systems, Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Manufacturing Systems, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Technical Systems Management
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 scale (no rounding) at current institution
- Must have completed 30 semester hours prior to start of internship
- Transfer students must have 12 semester hours completed at a 4-year university
- Graduation date must be May 2027 and beyond
- Able to complete a daily work commute to the Lafayette Large Engine Center using reliable transportation throughout the internship
- Analytical skills, initiating ideas, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with people of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, and abilities
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and quickly gain and apply new skills and knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must attach a resume and unofficial transcript
- Sponsorship is not available
- Must successfully complete a drug screen
