About the role
- Ensure financial accuracy and compliance across all business activities.
- Keep payroll, benefits, and employee records running smoothly and on time.
- Maintain accurate books, reconciliations, and reporting to guide business decisions.
- Support audits and compliance requirements, reducing risk for the company.
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
- Reconcile bank and credit card activity regularly.
- Complete full month-end closing processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Perform financial analysis and generate financial statements.
- Prepare annual 1099 forms and assist with tax filings.
- Manage accounts payable: vendor setup, payments, and communication.
- Process accounts receivable: timely invoicing and collections.
- Follow up on delinquent accounts and resolve outstanding balances.
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP (or similar).
- Enter new hires, garnishments, deductions, and adjustments into payroll systems.
- Generate payroll-related reports and provide supporting data.
- Administer employee benefits and retirement plans, ensuring compliance.
- Audit and reconcile records for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local payroll regulations.
- Provide accurate, timely financial information to management.
Requirements
- Proven full-charge bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and payroll systems (Viventium, ADP, or equivalent).
- Experience preparing P&L statements and conducting financial analysis.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with Profit Keeper or other backup accounting systems.
- Prior experience supporting audits or tax filings.
- Background in benefits administration and compliance reporting.
