About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Catalent Pharma Solutions is recruiting a Senior Business Development Director, Micronization.
- This is a field-based position responsible for covering a designated geography or a portfolio of accounts in Europe.
- As a Senior Business Development Director, you will join our dynamic Specialty Sales Team. Your primary role is to evaluate and assess contract development and manufacturing opportunities with customers for micronization services.
- The Senior Business Development Director is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing new development, tech transfer, and commercial supply contracts for API micronization with new customers.
- Managing and expanding relationships with existing customers is essential to drive growth of the commercial business.
- Additional responsibilities include identifying, qualifying, and pursuing micronization business opportunities, preparing and presenting quotations, managing relationships, prioritizing opportunities, and leading discussions to identify opportunities for innovation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS degree in a scientific discipline, business, or related field (MS, MBA, or Ph.D. preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development/sales, preferably with technical or scientific background in pharmaceutical contract services (CDMO), API manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
- Experience and understanding of the proposal development process, business quotations, budgeting, and managing to defined timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interact effectively with scientists and technical staff at customer organizations and within Catalent.
- Proven track record in new account penetration.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and plan work, manage travel, and balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% to visit and meet at Catalent manufacturing facilities in Dartford, UK, Malvern, PA, and other locations as needed.
