About the role
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for analytics and reporting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Implement data ingestion processes for various data types into the data lake
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for data warehousing
- Automate data workflows for timely data processing
- Handle real-time data streaming solutions
- Monitor and optimize data workflows performance
- Manage a data lake for efficient storage and processing of datasets
- Create data models and schemas for analytical reporting
- Ensure compliance with data warehousing best practices
- Implement data governance features and security measures
- Contribute to Data Lakehouse architecture implementation
- Maintain documentation of all data processes and pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, focusing on back-end development and data pipelines
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python)
- Strong experience managing and developing data workflows using Apache Airflow
- Proficiency in ETL development tools like Dataflow and Glue
- Knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka) is a plus
- Experience with data lake and data warehouse implementations
- Familiarity with Data Lakehouse architectures and tools like Snowflake or Google Big Query
- Understanding of GCP and/or AWS cloud data services
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and experience with implementing controls
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues in complex data workflows
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in data pipelines
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies in data engineering
