About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the development and evaluation of wellness strategies and programs integrating Indigenous teachings, trauma-informed practices, and evidence-based approaches
- Design, facilitate, and continuously improve wellness, creative, and peer-connection activities rooted in Indigenous cultural practices
- Provide one-on-one support and regular check-ins to Claims Helpers and team members, support Elders in Sharing Circles
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with Elders and Knowledge Keepers
- Oversee wellness resources, documentation, and outcome reporting while modeling emotional intelligence, resilience, and wellness
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7 plus years of experience in helping or human services roles, ideally within an Indigenous community or organization
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (social work, counselling, Indigenous studies, health promotion, organizational psychology, etc.)
- Deep personal connection to and understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing, being, and doing, gained through lived experience
- Expertise in Indigenous-based mental health, trauma-informed care, and culturally safe wellness practices
- Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring, coaching, or overseeing wellness programs
- Ability to advise organizational leadership on culturally responsive wellness practices
- Experience facilitating workshops, circles, group sessions, or cultural wellness events
- Commitment to cultural humility, reconciliation, and continuous learning
