About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Claims Helpers as a source of information, check-ins, and problem-solving
  • Help ensure Claims Helpers have access to wellness supports and organizational needs
  • Provide oversight and leadership in supporting Claims Helpers
  • Assist Claimants in completing Claim Forms
  • Work closely with Co-Leads to support Castlemain policies, training, and mentorship
  • Participate in training sessions and self-directed learning classes to provide claims support
  • Provide assistance to Claimants regarding the status of their Claims and appeal decisions
  • Follow key milestones and keep updated on settlement information
  • Contribute to thought leadership content and plan development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, and impacts of (intergenerational) trauma
  • In-depth understanding of colonial policies and discriminatory laws
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex information
  • Understanding of the governance structure of Indigenous communities
  • In-depth experience and understanding of Indigenous history, peoples and culture
  • Self-identifying as Indigenous and/or having first-hand knowledge of Indigenous communities is an asset
  • Intermediate understanding of technology
