About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the maintenance, security, and performance of USINDOPACOM's Virtual Machine Operating Environment (VOE)
Perform day-to-day system administration services
Ensure the operations, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
Work closely with information owners, HQ USINDOPACOM Directorates, Systems Staff, Network Staff and Cybersecurity staff
Responsible for 300+ VMs spread across 4 different VOEs and 3 different security classifications
Maintain, install, update, patch, and secure operating systems and applications for USINDOPACOM's VOE
Coordinate ASIs if downtime required for patching
Analyze processes, assigned systems and applications and make recommendations for improvements and automation
Ensure compliance with DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) requirements
Review the security and performance logs daily
Work with USINDOPACOM developers to identify and develop workflows
Utilize ACAS to monitor the security posture of assigned assets
Responsible for backup/restore VOE systems and applications in accordance with DoD and USINDOPACOM policies
Support during command exercises and command inspections
Provide a Monthly Status Report (MSR) to the COR-appointed Technical Assistant (TA)

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma
At least three (3) years of experience managing, supporting, patching, backing up and restoring VMWare vCenter & Horizon View environments within DoD.
Must meet the Intermediate Proficiency Level qualifications according to DoD 8140.03-M.
Experience securing systems and applications in accordance with Federal, DoD and HQ USINDOPACOM regulations, directives, and policies.
At least two (2) years of experience managing Cisco UCS in a DoD environment.
Experience managing VMware NSX.
Experience managing Rubrik and Cohesity.
Experience managing VMware vSan, vCOPS, vRO, Aria, and ESXi in a DoD environment.
Experience managing Tintri and Pure storage.
Experience supporting Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) agents.
Must be VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization (VCP - DCV) 6 (or later) certified and certification must be in good standing.
