About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Grow the number of clients posting and engaging with jobs and casting calls on Backstage, Mandy, and StarNow
- Identify and reach out to new leads and create consultative pitches tailored to employer type and market needs
- Manage the business development pipeline and convert leads in a timely manner
- Produce annual roadmaps with targets and outreach strategies to drive job posting and platform growth
- Develop and implement strategies to convert new clients into long-term users and advocates
- Research and analyze the casting landscape and assigned regions and verticals
- Onboard new clients and guide them on platform best practices
- Provide reports and insights for employers, markets, and verticals
- Organize and lead meetings, presentations, and product demos
- Attend networking events and meet employers in person and remotely
- Analyze performance measurements, reporting, and strategic roadmaps to ensure measurable ROI
- Develop customer-retention strategies
- Analyze strategic partnerships with unions, associations, organizations, influencers, and commercial entities
- Build lead-generation lists and relationships with schools and educational facilities; provide demos and talent recruitment advice
- Represent the business at conferences, expos, networking events, and industry events
- Collaborate with account management, content curation, product, and marketing teams
- Report to Backstage's Business Development Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional experience working with casting directors, producers, directors, creative directors, talent agents, and/or marketing or advertising agencies required
- Demonstrated experience in Account Management, Business Development, or Client Success
- High-velocity B2B SaaS technology or marketplace experience strongly preferred
- Deep customer empathy and ability to solve customer pain points
- Experience with customer support and segmentation
- Ability to strategize effective communication and positioning for unique customer segments
- Technical acuity and ability to understand, utilize, and explain online casting and hiring technology
- Ability to translate technical language to a non-technical audience
- Strong analytical skills, including assembling and interpreting data, creating executive summaries, and delivering actionable insights
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills adaptable to different personalities and seniority levels
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to work autonomously, maintain detailed records, and respond attentively to client communication
- Proven ability to solve a wide variety of unstructured challenges
- Must be based in New York City for this role

- On-target earnings (OTE) of $84,500-$97,500 annually
