Workers' Compensation Lien Representative / Collections Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a caseload of California workers' compensation lien files from initial billing through resolution
- Review accounts to determine appropriate collection strategy
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, defense attorneys, applicant attorneys, hearing representatives, and other parties
- Prepare demand letters and settlement proposals
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payment histories, and billing records
- Identify underpayments, denials, and outstanding balances
- Prepare files for conferences, hearings, and trials
- Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity
- Work closely with billing, providers, and management to resolve account issues
- Meet monthly collection and productivity goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of California Workers' Compensation collections experience preferred
- Experience filing and managing WCAB liens
- Working knowledge of California workers' compensation regulations
- Familiarity with EAMS and the WCAB process
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Experience with medical billing software is preferred
