About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a caseload of California workers' compensation lien files from initial billing through resolution
  • Review accounts to determine appropriate collection strategy
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters, defense attorneys, applicant attorneys, hearing representatives, and other parties
  • Prepare demand letters and settlement proposals
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payment histories, and billing records
  • Identify underpayments, denials, and outstanding balances
  • Prepare files for conferences, hearings, and trials
  • Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity
  • Work closely with billing, providers, and management to resolve account issues
  • Meet monthly collection and productivity goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years of California Workers' Compensation collections experience preferred
  • Experience filing and managing WCAB liens
  • Working knowledge of California workers' compensation regulations
  • Familiarity with EAMS and the WCAB process
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Experience with medical billing software is preferred
