About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain backend services in Java 21 / Spring Boot, ensuring quality, performance, and test coverage.
  • Write clean, testable, and secure code; actively participate in code reviews and help raise the team's technical standards.
  • Support operations: investigate and resolve incidents, participate in postmortems, and implement resilience improvements.
  • Adopt AI-assisted workflows in day-to-day development, contributing to the team's AI-native maturity.
  • Implement and consume REST APIs and asynchronous integrations.
  • Work in containerized environments (Kubernetes), with cloud deployments (Azure/AWS) and CI/CD practices.
  • Ensure observability of services (logs, metrics, and traces) using Datadog/OpenTelemetry, contributing to the squad's monitoring excellence agreements.
  • Collaborate in requirements refinement, estimations, and solution design.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot; hands-on knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, and relational/NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud (Azure or AWS), CI/CD, and observability tools.
  • Good practices in automated testing, clean code, and version control (Git).
  • Plus: experience in payments and using AI tools in development.
  • Plus: knowledge of React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
