About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and analyze acceptance and transaction performance metrics, identifying gaps, opportunities, and risks.
- Manage a portfolio of acquirers, acting as the focal point for acceptance, transaction quality, and operational evolution.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams (Tech, Product, Operations, and Commercial), ensuring alignment between strategy, execution, and results.
- Produce analyses, reports, and executive materials to monitor the portfolio and support decision-making.
- Conduct and support acceptance tests in the field, including on-site visits to merchants (ECs), proofs of concept (PoCs), and controlled tests.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with payment acceptance (in-person and/or e-commerce).
- Knowledge of TEF House, capture environments, and integrations.
- Experience managing relationships with merchants (ECs) and/or acquirers.
- Understanding of acceptance messaging flows.
- Knowledge of the payments ecosystem (card schemes/brands, acquirers, sub-acquirers, gateways).
- Analytical and organized, with the ability to turn data into practical decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, both technical and business.
- Genuine interest in understanding frontline operations and their strategic impacts.
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of acquirers is a plus.
- Experience in card schemes, product, or partnerships within payments is a plus.
- Experience with acceptance testing, rollouts, and production validations is a plus.
