About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules across multiple accounting areas
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and perform variance analysis
- Partner with accounting leadership to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results
- Assist in evaluating complex accounting transactions and business initiatives under U.S. GAAP
- Prepare technical accounting analyses and accounting memorandums
- Contribute to quarterly and annual financial reporting and disclosure support
- Assist with implementation and adoption of new accounting standards
- Contribute during external audit engagements, prepare audit support schedules, and respond to auditor requests
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting documentation
- Support SOX-readiness and compliance initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and close activities
- Support automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to implement scalable processes
- Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, Operations, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and Finance teams on new initiatives
- Research accounting impacts of operational and commercial decisions
- Bridge technical accounting requirements with practical business execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience required
- Strong preference for Big Four experience (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG)
- Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and corporate accounting functions
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
- CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA preferred
- Experience in a high-growth, private equity-backed, technology, logistics, eCommerce, or service-based business is a plus
- Prior exposure to technical accounting research and memorandum preparation
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842), stock compensation, debt accounting, or revenue recognition
- Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, Business Central, or other automation tools
- Experience leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
