About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise the daily activities of Vendor Management staff, set performance expectations, provide guidance and foster a collaborative team culture
  • Monitor and assess continuous compliance of third-party vendors with regulatory and company policies
  • Evaluate vendor adherence to contractual obligations, SLAs and industry regulations, and address issues
  • Lead and motivate staff, manage work distribution, and provide coaching and development opportunities
  • Maintain and evaluate department policies, procedures, forms, reports, training materials, job aids and checklists
  • Evaluate department reports and the vendor management system to maximize effectiveness and quality
  • Conduct and communicate performance assessment results and recommend additional training
  • Oversee vendor risk-level assessments, due diligence documentation review and final vendor profile assessments
  • Manage monthly vendor scorecard review and processing, including consumer complaints and security incidents
  • Oversee annual vendor re-certification package review and processing
  • Oversee vendor onboarding and termination processes
  • Review department exception reports and analyze reporting processes
  • Review and respond to internal and external audit requests
  • Oversee review of vendor on-site audit reports and tracking of remediation plans
  • Manage escalated matters and present concerns to upper management
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five or more years of mortgage servicing, auditing, finance, compliance or vendor management experience
  • Minimum three years in a lead or supervisory role with a team of two or more people
  • Experience establishing, negotiating and enforcing vendor contracts and service level agreements
  • Management reporting experience
  • Ability to work independently in a complex remote environment managing nationwide team members and vendors
  • Advanced proficiency in Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Visio
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration and technical skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to understand complex problems and explore alternative solutions
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately
  • Ability to communicate effectively by telephone
  • Professional demeanor, tact and sound judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client, staff and vendor information
