About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reconcile investor principal, interest, taxes, and insurance bank accounts
  • Research out-of-balance issues and recommend resolutions while meeting SEC Regulation AB deadlines
  • Analyze remittance differences among investor accounting reports, the loan servicing system, and remittance reports
  • Maintain appropriate cash in custodial accounts
  • Provide backup documentation for financial transactions and reconciliation packets
  • Validate data from other departments and resolve discrepancies
  • Research pool-to-security relationships and test expected principal and interest differences
  • Keep management informed of issues
  • Support team members in meeting reporting deadlines
  • Reconcile specialty accounts, including escrow disbursement, corporate disbursement, escheatment, and 203K accounts
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • Three to five years of related experience, including investor accounting and/or reporting, required
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Access database skills
  • Working knowledge of Investor Reporting
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions
  • Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing the job
  • Ability to make decisions with significant impact on department credibility, operations, and services
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules
  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and/or develop forecasts and computer models
  • Ability to communicate orally with others accurately, audibly, and quickly
