About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform examinations of title to real property to determine status and establish chain of title
- Assist Exam staff with file-level questions and concerns
- Review turn-time reports and suggest adjustments to file allocation and workflow processes
- Allocate work and provide support and direction to exam staff
- Help Exam Specialists resolve missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory title documentation
- Abstract and analyze deeds, deeds of trust/mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, mineral reservations, and other applicable instruments
- Verify ownership and encumbrances of real property
- Assist Management and Exam Staff with daily volume allocation and workflow/process improvement
- Support day-to-day management of Exam staff at individual and team levels
- Maintain an individual daily file pipeline
- Assist the Manager with daily operational needs and ensure compliance with customer-required SLAs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Five (5) or more years’ experience in title or settlement services
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite, including Word and Excel
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions
- Ability to understand, remember, and communicate routine, factual information
- Ability to understand opposing viewpoints on highly complex issues and negotiate and integrate different viewpoints
- Ability to apply common sense in performing the job
- Ability to make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit
- Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
- Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on a short-term basis
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and record, balance, and check results for accuracy
- Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
- Ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports or orally communicate technical information
- Ability to communicate orally with others accurately, audibly, and quickly
