About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the category team in implementing strategic tasks and initiatives
- Plan, develop, and execute measures to optimize commodities, including supplier classification
- Develop, coordinate, and present procurement strategies to management and cross-functional stakeholders
- Conduct contract and price negotiations and define global conditions with the chief negotiator
- Monitor and benchmark global procurement and commodity markets, competitors, and indices
- Facilitate cross-functional exchange of product group-specific information
- Provide supplier long lists within the Source-to-Contract process
- Manage RFI and RFQ processes in coordination with the chief negotiator
- Collaborate with project purchasing for new developments and partner selection
- Perform cost analyses to optimize costs with existing suppliers
- Support SQ&D activities in alignment with negotiators
- Participate in supplier audits and risk management
- Assume global responsibility for the product group and associated targets, including performance tracking
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced to expert knowledge obtained through advanced education and experience
- Substantial knowledge of the company’s organization, programs, or systems
- University degree or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
