About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and program building automation systems, site-specific configurations of control systems, and control algorithms
  • Adhere to project requirements, company standards, and customer design standards in programming and implementation
  • Create clear design documents containing technical information for project teams, and document/communicate all building automation system designs and revisions
  • Develop and test graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems prior to implementation
  • Support functional testing for building systems and provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customer needs are met
  • Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or technical discipline; OR Associate degree with 2+ years of experience designing, programming, or field-testing commercial HVAC and control systems; OR High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience designing, programming, or field-testing commercial HVAC and control systems
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Construction discipline
  • Experience in HVAC controls, Building Automation, Test and Balance (TAB), or related industry disciplines
  • Working knowledge of primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools (Automated Logic suites preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Automated Logic software, hardware, peripherals, add-ons, and services
  • Experience with third-party communication protocols used in building automation (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2)
  • Experience with Enterprise IP networks and Microsoft Visio, or similar drafting/diagramming software
  • Ability to understand written sequences of operations and diagrammatic depictions of control systems
  • Ability to translate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Physical ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and lift items up to 50 lbs.
