About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead startup, commissioning, and warranty processes for Carrier air- and water-cooled chillers in newly constructed data centers
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring schedules and budgets are met
- Track and review key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project success
- Conduct progress meetings with stakeholders, addressing design, material delivery, and labor schedules
- Ensure all projects meet or exceed booked profit margin goals
- Work with project coordination to order and track all chiller parts needed for warranty execution
- Collaborate with sales, prime contractors, and end-users to fulfill project scope and deliverables
- Serve as the primary liaison representing Carrier between the customer, commissioning authority (CxA), general contractor, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth communication and project progression
- Provide professional, timely resolution for customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction with all aspects of project execution
- Interpret and apply mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications
- Ensure adherence to industry codes, standards, and project specifications
- Apply working knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS) integration to ensure proper controls functionality
- Manage the change order process, preventing scope creep and maintaining project integrity
- Accurately forecast monthly revenue by estimating project completion costs
- Manage project documentation, including warranty processing and factory-generated service information in collaboration with our Service Engineering team
- Maintain rigorous job safety standards across all projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of project management experience, or 4+ years in mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, or construction
- 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints, and technical mechanical systems documents
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering; or a Master's degree/MBA preferred
- Data center industry experience with water- or air-cooled chillers preferred
- Commercial HVAC expertise, including centrifugal chillers, CDU systems, and airside equipment preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- LEED certification or experience with Building Automation Systems preferred
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong ability to build rapport and trust with customers through active listening and effective solutions.
