About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead startup, commissioning, and warranty processes for Carrier air- and water-cooled chillers in newly constructed data centers
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, ensuring schedules and budgets are met
Track and review key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project success
Conduct progress meetings with stakeholders, addressing design, material delivery, and labor schedules
Ensure all projects meet or exceed booked profit margin goals
Work with project coordination to order and track all chiller parts needed for warranty execution
Collaborate with sales, prime contractors, and end-users to fulfill project scope and deliverables
Serve as the primary liaison representing Carrier between the customer, commissioning authority (CxA), general contractor, and subcontractors, ensuring smooth communication and project progression
Provide professional, timely resolution for customer concerns, ensuring satisfaction with all aspects of project execution
Interpret and apply mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications
Ensure adherence to industry codes, standards, and project specifications
Apply working knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS) integration to ensure proper controls functionality
Manage the change order process, preventing scope creep and maintaining project integrity
Accurately forecast monthly revenue by estimating project completion costs
Manage project documentation, including warranty processing and factory-generated service information in collaboration with our Service Engineering team
Maintain rigorous job safety standards across all projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED
5+ years of project management experience, or 4+ years in mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, or construction
2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints, and technical mechanical systems documents
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering; or a Master's degree/MBA preferred
Data center industry experience with water- or air-cooled chillers preferred
Commercial HVAC expertise, including centrifugal chillers, CDU systems, and airside equipment preferred
PMP certification preferred
LEED certification or experience with Building Automation Systems preferred
Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Strong ability to build rapport and trust with customers through active listening and effective solutions.
