About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of spend data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies across categories and suppliers.
  • Utilize statistical techniques and data visualization tools to transform complex datasets into clear, meaningful insights for stakeholders.
  • Leverage tools such as Python, R, VBA, and advanced Excel to build scalable analytical workflows and automate repetitive data processing tasks.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to enhance spend classification, outlier detection, and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Increase automation across key steps of the spend analysis lifecycle to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency of outputs.
  • Deliver robust, audit-ready spend analysis that supports strategic sourcing decisions at both global and regional levels.
  • Build and validate detailed should-cost models for Build to Print categories including plastics, Sheet Metal, pressure die cast (PDC) components, machining, leveraging knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers.
  • Maintain and continuously refine cost models using aPriori or equivalent tools to reflect current market dynamics and input cost movements.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, design-to-cost analysis, and supplier negotiations.
  • Monitor global market trends, raw material indices, supplier landscapes, and technological developments in the HVAC and related industries.
  • Leverage market intelligence to inform sourcing strategies, risk mitigation plans, and cost management decisions.
  • Prepare structured negotiation packs for category managers, including should-cost breakdowns, market benchmarks, supplier scorecards, and price-volume analyses.
  • Drive or support the execution of initiatives generated from spend analytics, converting insights into real, measurable savings.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in spend analytics, strategic sourcing, or cost engineering within a manufacturing or industrial procurement environment.
  • Strong understanding of part cost structures, manufacturing processes, and tooling across key direct spend categories.
  • Hands-on experience with aPriori or similar should-cost software is mandatory.
  • Experience with BI and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML techniques applied to procurement analytics is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for analytics and presentations is mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities for stakeholder management.
  • High learning agility, accountability, and effective collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global environment with stakeholders located in different regions.
  • Strong attention to detail with sharp observational skills to identify issues accurately and articulate findings effectively.
