About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and develop Building Automation opportunities through bid/specification platforms, construction databases, and industry networking across the Greater Vancouver area
  • Build and expand relationships with owners, consultants, contractors, and end-users to position and close tailored building automation solutions
  • Review project documentation, perform take-offs, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to support accurate and competitive proposals
  • Lead the sales cycle, including prospecting, opportunity qualification, solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and closing
  • Manage and maintain opportunity pipelines, account activity, and forecasts within CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Represent the company at client meetings, job sites, industry events, and trade shows to strengthen market presence and generate qualified leads
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing aligned with company strategy, margin expectations, and risk management guidelines
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience within Greater Vancouver market
  • 2+ years of experience within the building automation industry
  • Travel up to 25% to attend corporate meetings, training and industry events
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with design/engineering, estimating and CRM tools are a plus (Examples: Bluebeam, BidTracer, Salesforce)
