About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and program building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control system, and control algorithms.
- Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
- Create a clear design document for project teams with technical information.
- Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.
- Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.
- Test programming and interfaces prior to implementation.
- Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.
- Support functional testing for building systems.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of HVAC, Controls, or Building Automation experience; OR a Trade/Technical School Certificate in HVAC, Controls or Building Automation; OR an Associate Degree in Engineering
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or construction discipline.
- Experience in HVAC controls, Building Automation, or related industry.
- Basic knowledge of primary functions of building automation system software and associated engineering tools, Automated Logic suites preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Automated Logic software, peripherals, add-ons, services, or hardware design.
- Understanding and/or experience with IP networks
- Understanding and/or experience with Microsoft Visio and/or similar software.
- Ability to understand written sequences of operations, diagrammatic depictions of systems.
- Familiar with third-party communication protocols used in building automation, such as BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2, etc.
- Able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
